EdUHK recently held the Award Presentation Ceremony for the President’s Commendation Scheme 2025/26, the Whole Person Development Awards - Dean of Students’ List, and a wide array of 2024/25 scholarships, honouring students who excelled in arts, sports, academia, community service and personal development.

EdUHK celebrated the opening of its West Kowloon Study Centre (Museum Drive) located at the M+ Building in the West Kowloon Cultural District on 24 April 2026.

EdUHK is proud to make its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2026 announced on 23 April 2026, securing an impressive 37th position among leading universities in the region.

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) hosted the EdUHK Alumni Homecoming 2026 at its Tai Po Campus on 21 March 2026, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the University’s retitling.

EdUHK hosted an alumni reunion on 29 January 2026 at its newly established West Kowloon Study Centre (Museum Drive).

EdUHK and the Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund held a Presentation Ceremony on 27 January 2026 for the Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund Scholarship 2025/2026.

EdUHK has received a generous donation of HK$5 million from The Hong Kong Orange Osmanthus Foundation Limited to support its newly established Global Institute for New Media, Arts, Culture and Education (GI-NMACE).

Marking the 10th anniversary of EdUHK’s retitling, EdUHK hosted the “Caring Together Walkathon” and the Hong Kong Marathon 2026 EdUHK Running Team Kick‑off Ceremony at its Pak Shek Kok Sports Centre on 10 January 2026.

EdUHK has received a generous donation of HK$2.95 million from the Sprinkles Charity Foundation to support the “Unity of Nature and Humanity: An Academic Research Project in Sustainability Education”.

EdUHK has achieved a remarkable leap in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026, announced on 18 November 2025 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The 4th Asia-African Women’s Development and Cooperation Forum was held on 10 November 2025 at EdUHK.

EdUHK proudly celebrates a double triumph as two eminent alumni and a faculty member receive prestigious accolades in 2025. Mr Chan Yan-kit, Head Coach of the Hong Kong Para Badminton Team, and Mr Gordon Lee Chun-lok, a renowned young harmonica virtuoso, have been named among the ‘Ten Outstanding Young Persons’ of the year. Meanwhile, Dr Jin Mengyao, Co-Director of the Centre for Classical Chinese Education and lecturer in the Department of Chinese Language Studies, has been recognised as one of the ‘Hong Kong Professional Elite Ladies’.

EdUHK ‘Project Aspire’, backed by a generous donation of HK$5 million from Koo’s Giving Charitable Foundation, was officially renamed ‘School Aspire’ and launched at a grand opening ceremony on 25 October 2025 at Tseung Kwan O Study Centre, marking a significant milestone in services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

EdUHK is pleased to announce its ranking of 152nd out of 1,526 higher education institutions in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, rising 60 places from the previous year. This achievement places the University in the top 10% across the region. Released on 4 November 2025 by international higher education analytics firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the rankings highlight EdUHK’s strong performance across key indicators, reflecting the University’s sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and global engagement.

EdUHK is pleased to announce the official opening of its West Kowloon Study Centre (Austin Road) at the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District on 31 October 2025.

EdUHK is proud to announce its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, released on 9 October 2025 in its 2026 edition. EdUHK’s first-ever THE ranking is 195th in the world, placing the University in the top 10% globally among 2,191 institutions worldwide, and sixth in Hong Kong.

EdUHK hosted the Honorary Awards and Thanksgiving Dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on 26 September 2025. The event aimed to express heartfelt appreciation to benefactors, alumni, and partners for their steadfast support of the University’s mission, while also recognising outstanding scholarship recipients.

EdUHK held the Honorary Doctorate and Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony on its Tai Po campus on 26 September 2025.

Published biannually, EdUHK Futures keeps stakeholders abreast of the latest developments, new projects and initiatives at EdUHK, as well as stories of staff, students and alumni.

EdUHK's Jockey Club Youth Academy for Special Educational Needs (the Academy) held a graduation ceremony for its third cohort (2024-25) of students at Tai Po campus on 18 July 2025.

EdUHK will hold an Honorary Awards Ceremony on 26 September 2025 (Friday) to confer honorary doctorates and an honorary fellowship on six distinguished individuals, in recognition of their exceptional contributions to their respective fields and to the University, the education sector and the wider community.

Funded by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, the EdUHK's Department of Chinese Language Studies (CHL) held the closing ceremony of the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area ‘Characteristic Affection, Classical Aspirations’ Teaching Development Research Project” at EdUHK’s North Point Teaching Centre on 28 June 2025.

The Academy for Educational Development and Innovation (AEDI) of EdUHK, along with AI, Brain and Child Research Centre (ABC-RC), received a total of HK$6 million from Hainan Chengxi Investment Co., Ltd. The funds will support educational development and innovation projects, as well as research and application in artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and child development.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Financial Education Programme (HKJCFEP) Seminar, created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and hosted by EdUHK, was held at InnoCentre MICE in Kowloon Tong on 20 June 2025. With the theme “Virtual Assets – Opportunity or Risk?”, the seminar was attended by principals, teachers and people from different social sectors to explore the field of financial education in the era of digital finance.

EdUHK is proud to announce its debut in the QS World University Rankings 2026, unveiled on 19 June 2025, placing within the top 35% globally at 530th, and also ranking 161st in Asia and 7th in Hong Kong.

EdUHK has received a generous donation of HK$5 million from Koo’s Giving Charitable Foundation to support a new educational initiative entitled ‘School Aspire’ under its ‘Project Aspire’. The donation will allow the provision of effective academic and professional support to high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD) students and young adults, enhancing their competencies in academic pursuits and integration into school and work life.

EdUHK announced its Strategic Plan 2025–2031 on 22 May 2025, setting out its direction for the next six years. The new plan focuses on the theme of ‘Education Futures’, outlining a vision and blueprint for 2025 to 2031, to nurture students with diverse skills, enabling them to tackle the challenges and seize opportunities in an ever-changing world amidst the digital era.

EdUHK hosted the presentation ceremony on 6 May 2025 for the 2024/25 edition of the President’s Commendation Scheme and Whole Person Development Awards – Dean of Students’ List. Also presented were 102 scholarships awarded in 2023/24, celebrating the achievements of 790 students in academia, community service and personal development. This event embodies EdUHK’s strategic development of ‘Education Futures, Diverse Talents’.

EdUHK Alumni Affairs and Development Office (AADO) held the EdUHK Alumni Homecoming 2025 on 22 March 2025.

EdUHK is pleased to announce that in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, EdUHK ranked 12th in the world in Education, 4th in Asia and 2nd in Hong Kong. The results are encouraging and once again prove the University’s professional standing in education is recognised internationally.

EdUHK and the Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund held a Presentation Ceremony on 18 February 2025 for the Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund Scholarship 2024/2025. The ceremony awarded full scholarships to seven outstanding EdUHK elite athletes who not only excel in their sports but also aspire to become future educators. The scholarship will cover their full tuition fees throughout their study period, so they can focus on their studies without worrying about their financial burden.

EdUHK organised the ‘Caring for Life and Wellness 2025 Carnival’ once again this year on 14 February 2025. The carnival promoted positive values education, a caring culture, and pet-friendly environment, encouraging the University’s senior management, faculty and staff members, and students to participate in a variety of activities on campus and enjoy a pleasant afternoon.

EdUHK held a topping-out ceremony for the New Academic Building on 24 January 2025 on its Tai Po campus, marking a new milestone in the development of the University. The new building will incorporate technological applications for “Education Futures”, focusing on advancing fields such as STEM and AI education. This further enhances EdUHK’s role in driving educational innovation and preparing for diversified opportunities to take the University to new heights.

EdUHK Alumni Affairs and Development Office (AADO) held the ‘EdUHK Alumni Reunion Dinner’ at its Tai Po Campus on 17 January 2025 (Friday), gathering nearly 80 alumni and guests from both mainland China and Hong Kong with University management and faculty.

EdUHK recently received a generous donation of HK$ 1 million from Pat Chun International Limited (Pat Chun) to establish the “Pat Chun Amy Ng Foundation for the Promotion of Chinese Culture to the Young Generation”. The foundation supports the University by conducting a series of Chinese cultural workshops between 2024 and 2028. The workshops allow EdUHK students to learn traditional craft techniques through interactive methods, understand traditional Chinese culture, and enhance cultural literacy. The foundation also provides opportunities for students to reflect on life and personal values through Chinese culture, jointly promoting and spreading Chinese traditional cultural arts.
