Mr Chan Yan-kit, Head Coach of the Hong Kong Para Badminton Team, and Mr Gordon Lee Chun-lok, a renowned young harmonica virtuoso, have been named among the ‘Ten Outstanding Young Persons’ of the year. Meanwhile, Dr Jin Mengyao, Co-Director of the Centre for Classical Chinese Education and lecturer in the Department of Chinese Language Studies, has been recognised as one of the ‘Hong Kong Professional Elite Ladies’.
EdUHK’s ‘School Aspire’ Launched to Expand Comprehensive Support for ASD Students and Families
EdUHK ‘Project Aspire’, backed by a generous donation of HK$5 million from Koo’s Giving Charitable Foundation, was officially renamed ‘School Aspire’ and launched at a grand opening ceremony on 25 October 2025 at Tseung Kwan O Study Centre, marking a significant milestone in services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

EdUHK is pleased to announce its ranking of 152nd out of 1,526 higher education institutions in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, rising 60 places from the previous year. This achievement places the University in the top 10% across the region. EdUHK Receives HK$6 million Donation to Promote AI Applications in Education
The Academy for Educational Development and Innovation (AEDI) of EdUHK, along with AI, Brain and Child Research Centre (ABC-RC), received a total of HK$6 million from Hainan Chengxi Investment Co., Ltd. The funds will support educational development and innovation projects, as well as research and application in artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and child development.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Financial Education Programme Seminar: Virtual Assets – Opportunity or Risk?
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Financial Education Programme (HKJCFEP) Seminar, created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and hosted by EdUHK, was held at InnoCentre MICE in Kowloon Tong on 20 June 2025. With the theme “Virtual Assets – Opportunity or Risk?”, the seminar was attended by principals, teachers and people from different social sectors to explore the field of financial education in the era of digital finance.

EdUHK is proud to announce its debut in the QS World University Rankings 2026, unveiled on 19 June 2025, placing within the top 35% globally at 530th, and also ranking 161st in Asia and 7th in Hong Kong.
EdUHK Receives HK$5 million Donation from Koo’s Giving Charitable Foundation
EdUHK has received a generous donation of HK$5 million from Koo’s Giving Charitable Foundation to support a new educational initiative entitled ‘School Aspire’ under its ‘Project Aspire’. The donation will allow the provision of effective academic and professional support to high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD) students and young adults, enhancing their competencies in academic pursuits and integration into school and work life.

EdUHK announced its Strategic Plan 2025–2031 on 22 May 2025, setting out its direction for the next six years. EdUHK Honours Student Outstanding Achievements and Encourages Diverse Development at Awards Presentation Ceremony 2025
EdUHK hosted the presentation ceremony on 6 May 2025 for the 2024/25 edition of the President’s Commendation Scheme and Whole Person Development Awards – Dean of Students’ List. Also presented were 102 scholarships awarded in 2023/24, celebrating the achievements of 790 students in academia, community service and personal development. This event embodies EdUHK’s strategic development of ‘Education Futures, Diverse Talents’.

EdUHK Elite Athletes Awarded Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund Scholarship
EdUHK and the Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund held a Presentation Ceremony on 18 February 2025 for the Nissin Foods (Hong Kong) Charity Fund Scholarship 2024/2025. The ceremony awarded full scholarships to seven outstanding EdUHK elite athletes who not only excel in their sports but also aspire to become future educators. The scholarship will cover their full tuition fees throughout their study period, so they can focus on their studies without worrying about their financial burden.
EdUHK Holds Second Caring for Life and Wellness 2025 Carnival
EdUHK organised the ‘Caring for Life and Wellness 2025 Carnival’ once again this year on 14 February 2025. The carnival promoted positive values education, a caring culture, and pet-friendly environment, encouraging the University’s senior management, faculty and staff members, and students to participate in a variety of activities on campus and enjoy a pleasant afternoon.
EdUHK Holds Topping-Out Ceremony for New Academic Building A New Milestone for the New Year
EdUHK held a topping-out ceremony for the New Academic Building on 24 January 2025 on its Tai Po campus, marking a new milestone in the development of the University. The new building will incorporate technological applications for “Education Futures”, focusing on advancing fields such as STEM and AI education. This further enhances EdUHK’s role in driving educational innovation and preparing for diversified opportunities to take the University to new heights.

EdUHK Alumni Affairs and Development Office (AADO) held the ‘EdUHK Alumni Reunion Dinner’ at its Tai Po Campus on 17 January 2025 (Friday), gathering nearly 80 alumni and guests from both mainland China and Hong Kong with University management and faculty.
EdUHK Receives Donation from Pat Chun International Limited to Launch Chinese Cultural Workshops
EdUHK recently received a generous donation of HK$ 1 million from Pat Chun International Limited (Pat Chun) to establish the “Pat Chun Amy Ng Foundation for the Promotion of Chinese Culture to the Young Generation”. The foundation supports the University by conducting a series of Chinese cultural workshops between 2024 and 2028. The workshops allow EdUHK students to learn traditional craft techniques through interactive methods, understand traditional Chinese culture, and enhance cultural literacy. The foundation also provides opportunities for students to reflect on life and personal values through Chinese culture, jointly promoting and spreading Chinese traditional cultural arts.
